The Fuse Lab is focused on understanding how animals respond to external stresses and tissue damage, from a physiological and developmental perspective.
We are using an insect model, Manduca sexta, to assess (i) the cellular mechanisms leading to nociceptive sensitization, a form of "pain memory" as well as (ii) the signaling cascade leading to developmental delays after imaginal disc damage.
